The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) participated in a high-level seminar organized by the IMF Legal Department and AFRITAC West 2, held from April 8–10, 2025, in Accra, Ghana. Dr. Miatta Jeh, who serves as one of the Oversight Commissioners for Monitoring & Investigation Department at LACC, represented Liberia at this pivotal event.

The seminar convened approximately 20 senior officials from West African countries, including representatives from anti-corruption agencies, financial intelligence agencies, ministries of justice, and presidential offices. The focus was on enhancing governance structures, strengthening the rule of law, and addressing macro-critical corruption vulnerabilities.

Participants engaged in in-depth discussions, sharing success stories and challenges in implementing anti-corruption reforms. Practical case studies allowed attendees to develop concrete approaches to tackling corruption and promoting judicial integrity.

Dr. Jeh contributed valuable insights into Liberia’s ongoing efforts to combat corruption and emphasized the importance of regional collaboration in fostering transparent and accountable institutions. Her participation underscores LACC’s commitment to aligning with international best practices and leveraging global partnerships to strengthen Liberia’s anti-corruption framework.

The seminar also highlighted the IMF’s resources available to support reform initiatives, encouraging participants to initiate discussions on potential capacity development measures.

LACC remains steadfast in its mission to uphold integrity, promote good governance, and ensure that Liberia plays an active role in continental anti-corruption initiatives.
