Executive Chairperson of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission Participates in 6th General Assembly of the Network of Anti-Corruption Institutions in West Africa

Abuja, Nigeria – The Executive Chairperson of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), Cllr. Alexandra Kormah Zoe, who currently serves as the Vice President of the Network of Anti-Corruption Institutions in West Africa (NACIWA), led a delegation to the 6th General Assembly of NACIWA. The event, held at the ECOWAS Commission in Abuja, Nigeria, centered around the theme: “Implementing the ECOWAS Protocol on the Fight Against Corruption: Towards Strengthening Institutions for Regional Unity."

The three-day event brought together high-level delegations of heads of anti-corruption institutions from across ECOWAS member states, emphasizing the importance of regional cooperation in combating corruption.

On the first day, the Executive Chairperson represented Liberia in a significant panel discussion alongside other heads of anti-corruption institutions. The panel focused on the “ECOWAS Protocol on the Fight Against Corruption: Prospects and Way Forward,” exploring strategies to enhance the effectiveness of anti-corruption measures within the region.

Accompanying the Executive Chairperson were Cllr. David Wilson, Commissioner with oversight for Prosecution, and Ms. Vivian S. Akoto, Executive Assistant & Program Manager in the Office of the Executive Chairperson. The delegation's presence reaffirmed Liberia’s commitment to active participation in regional anti-corruption efforts and the implementation of the ECOWAS Protocol.

The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Honorable Kashim Shettima, delivered a message on behalf of His Excellency Bola N. Tinubu, President of the Republic of Nigeria, underscoring the need for unity and collaboration in the fight against corruption across West Africa.

The LACC's leadership at this event highlights Liberia’s ongoing dedication to promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance throughout the region.
