Monrovia, Liberia – The leadership of COLINBO, a consortium of Liberian business professionals, met with the Executive Chairperson of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), Cllr. Alexandra Kormah Zoe, on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. The meeting, held at the LACC head offices, focused on the ongoing efforts in the fight against corruption and the role of the business community in this crucial national endeavor.

Mr. Joseph Koda, President of COLINBO, expressed his appreciation to the Executive Chairperson on behalf of his team for the significant progress being made by the LACC in combating corruption. He highlighted the direct benefits that small business groups like COLINBO experience when corruption is curtailed, and pledged the organization's cooperation with the LACC in any future needs. Mr. Koda also expressed COLINBO's interest in participating in the procurement of goods and services for government agencies, including the LACC.

The Executive Chairperson, speaking on behalf of the Body of Commissioners and the staff of the LACC, thanked Mr. Koda and the COLINBO leadership for their visit. She acknowledged that COLINBO is the first business organization to formally commend the LACC for its efforts in fighting corruption, and expressed her gratitude for their positive feedback. The Chairperson noted that the meeting serves as a strong motivation to continue working diligently in the interest of the Liberian people. She further encouraged COLINBO to act as whistleblowers and to report any instances of corruption they may encounter, thereby contributing to the broader fight against corruption.

The LACC remains committed to fostering partnerships with all sectors of society, including the business community, as part of its mission to eradicate corruption and promote good governance in Liberia.
